Dallas Anderson (she/her) ♒︎

“I believe art is the natural occupation for most people, and the only reason more people don't create art is because they've been deprived of or denied access to the means/space/time/energy to do so.”

ˈdæləs
“dall-uh-ss”

Dallas is an emerging writer whose work employs genre fiction frameworks to examine society while exploring questions of identity, connection, community, and self-discovery. A life-long love for stories and storytelling was first forged by a complicated adolescence, when Dallas turned to escapism as she struggled to accept herself amid the rolling farmland of rural Alberta, and later sharpened while earning a BA in English from Mount Royal University. She published her short cosmic horror story, A Message, with Lampblack Books of Calgary and, as a student, her writing earned the Edith Park Scholarship in English Literature. When she isn’t writing (aka staring at a blank page wracked with imposter syndrome), she can probably be found playing guitar with her friends in their punk band, Glitter Glue, or dancing at a goth club.

Sarosh Shivji (she/they) ♉︎

ɛsʌrəʊʃ
“suh-row-sh”

As a board member at large at The New Gallery, Sarosh loves art. At the University of Calgary they are a French and Communications and Media Studies major with a concentration in Gender and Sexuality Studies.
