Manuela Albarracin (she/they) ♉︎

Manuela Albarracin is an emerging visual artist and maker who calls Treaty 7 territory home. With a passion for community building and self-expression, their work aims to celebrate the power of creativity in everyday life while building connections and subverting conventional artistic mediums and processes. Her pieces have been exhibited in a variety of places—from home galleries and student exhibitions to collaborations with local businesses and non-profits.

Mao Kun Chen is a visual artist, ceramicist, and creative entrepreneur whose work celebrates the beauty of individuality and the power of self-expression. Drawing inspiration from East Asian kawaii culture and themes of female empowerment, Mao creates vibrant, whimsical pieces that blend traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. Their practice bridges cultural heritage and contemporary narratives, using art to tell stories that resonate deeply with diverse audiences. As the Co-founder of Mao Projects, they bring a touch of cuteness and joy to everyday rituals, while championing creativity and representation through their art and endeavors.



Adrienne Rovere (she/her) ♉︎

Adrienne Rovere is an interdisciplinary creative disguised as a corporate machine. Adrienne graduated with a BA in Communications and Creative Writing from the University of Calgary, and an MA in Fashion Curation from the University of the Arts London (LCF). She has curated exhibitions in London and Greece, focusing on non-haptic materials and biohazardous preservation. Adrienne has worked in numerous designer archives across London and her passion for textiles combined with communications has led her to work in digital and retail spaces. She currently designs product and textile education programs for a technical sportswear brand.

Al Schoenberg (they/them) is a non-binary lesbian, born in Amiskwaciy Waskahikan, (known as Edmonton) and now living as a settler in Mohkinstis. They are a practicing interdisciplinary artist who has shown their work in a variety of exhibitions over the years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta University of the Arts in 2019, they have gone on to study at Parsons School of Design (NY), worked as a miniature artist at a Miniature Museum, and continues to build on a medley of artistic skills.

Sarah van Sloten (she/her) is a settler living and working on Treaty 7 territory in Calgary, AB. Van Sloten graduated with a BFA from the Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) (2010) and an MFA from the University of Windsor (2016). She has exhibted work across Canada and in the UK, and was recently Artist-in-Residence at the Bowness Community Association (2023). She currently works at AUArts as a Learning Strategies Advisor.
Gina McKinnon (she/her) ♉︎

Gina McKinnon is a visual artist, coordinator of corporate shenanigans, and lifelong volunteer. McKinnon graduated with a BA from the University of Calgary (2012). She has exhibited work at Theatre Calgary, Pumphouse Theatre Gallery, and assorted friends living rooms. She believes that art is a unifying, barrier breaking, force of nature.





Lyndsay Wasko (she/her) ♓︎

Quick with a sketchbook and conceptual thinking, Lyndsay has crafted a multidisciplinary portfolio over the last decade that demonstrates her ability to wear many hats: from award-winning brand, web, and packaging design to multi-channel ad campaigns and more illustrative work such as video game concept art, children's book illustration, and museum installations.

Lyndsay’s illustrative work explores themes of childlike discovery and thoughtful observation of nature and her intention is to inspire greater appreciation and respect for the natural world we all share. As part of this mandate, she has worked closely with the Wilder Institute and Parks Canada to promote wildlife and habitat conservation. A Calgary-based creative, Lyndsay graduated with a Bachelor of Communication Design from the Alberta University of the Arts and is currently pursuing a Masters of Library and Information Studies at the University of Alberta. Outside of academic pursuits, she runs Mice Type, a small creative studio, and serves as board member at The New Gallery.


Andy Rubio (they/them) ♑︎

Andy Rubio is a Queer, Trans*, French-Can./Chinese mixed-race printmaker, fibre artist, writer, studio facilitator+technician, and avid volunteer in the arts community of Mohkinstsis. They graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Majoring in Print Media and a focus in Fibre Arts from the Alberta University of the Arts. Through play with humor, tense absurdity, and juxtaposition, they enjoy exploring themes of Queer and mixed-race visibility, experiences, liminal space, representation, commodification, and nostalgia. Further, they greatly enjoy bike mechanics, history, and smothering their cat baby Bingus.They believe art is a way in which we process big concepts and ideas toward understanding the world around us and our lives.

Isha Varma is a professional marketing manager, having spent 6+ years working in roles related to community investment and climate change & sustainability. Outside of working hours, you can find Isha dabbling in music journalism and DJing local events.

Jenna Van Buekenhout reaches out from an inherited textile tradition to entangle and untangle sculpture, poetry, and conversations. Her work complicates simple metaphors with the material and emotional vulnerability of living specificity. She was born and raised in unceded territory of the Coast Salish People and the Stö:lō Nation in British Columbia. She currently works in Mohkinstsis (Calgary), Treaty 7 Territory.
