THE BIG ONE$

is a fundraiser and party in support of The New Gallery.

At the event you’ll be able to purchase limited-edition prints by artists Micah Lexier, Roselina Hung, and Ryan McClure Scott, who have all contributed to The New Gallery over our 40-year history. We will also be releasing a limited-edition t-shirt designed by recent-past TNG staff, Steven Cottingham. Melted Mirror will be playing and DJ Teddy Celebration will DJ throughout the evening. You can purchase raffle tickets leading up to or during the event to win a variety of prizes, such as two round-trip tickets from WestJet, a pair of tickets to Sled Island 2016, gift baskets from Luke’s Drug Mart and Inglewood Art Supply, and much more!

The silkscreen prints are from an edition of 30, with only 20 available for purchase. They will be sold for $75 individually or $200 for a set of three. The t-shirts are $30 from an edition of 26. Adult sizes S, M, L, and XL are available. Raffle tickets are $10 each, offering multiple chances to win an assortment of prizes from our generous donors.

Over the last four decades, The New Gallery has provided opportunities and venues for artists to foster critical and emergent art practices. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards supporting The New Gallery’s future programming.

This year’s fundraiser is of particular importance for The New Gallery as we recover from the unfortunate flood that happened at the John Snow House in July 2015. The flood resulted in vacating the historical home, a site we had programmed for the last 5 years, and the need to restore the damaged library and archive materials that had been located there. Despite this recent difficulty, 2015 also marks The New Gallery’s 40th Anniversary, as well as 40 years of artist-run culture in Calgary. Whether you’ve been involved with the organization at any point in our history, or are a new supporter, we’d love to celebrate with you on November 28!

ABOUT THE RAFFLE: This is a licensed charity event under The New Gallery’s societal name – Clouds & Water Gallery and Visual Production Society, raffle license # 420230

The New Gallery has rounded up some great raffle prizes from local merchants, including a WestJet voucher for two round-trip tickets valued at $2900 (draw at 11:00 pm), two Sled Island 2016 passes valued at $358 (draw at 10:30 pm), a gift certificate from The Brass Monocle valued at $250 (draw at 10:00 pm), an Inglewood Art Supplies package valued at $150 (draw at 9:00 pm), a Lukes Drug Mart package valued at $48.63 (draw at 8:30), and an Understudy package valued at $450 (draw at 7:30). Only 400 tickets are available for this raffle! Tickets can be bought at the event on November 28, 2015. The draws will be made at their listed time during our fundraising event THE BIG ONE$ at the National Music Centre (134 – 11 Avenue SE) on November 28, 2015.
