Traditional Chinese Stone Seal Carving Workshop
Participants will be taught the unique traditional art form of Stone Seal Carving and walk away with their very own stone seal, holding living history in their hands.
Facilitated by Jia Yang Wang, this workshop strives to provide a learning environment for cultural exploration in an authentic and genuine manner, whilst cultivating an appreciation for arts outside of the mainstream.
Two instances of this workshop will be held on April 25th at The New Gallery (208 Centre St S.) in Calgary's Chinatown. The first workshop will be held from 1-3PM and the second workshop will be held from 3:15-5:15pm.
There is room for 12 participants per workshop. A $20 sign up fee is required.
Participants will be provided with all materials necessary for this workshop, including sharp carving tools. By signing up, each participant acknowledges the potential hazards of handling these tools and releases the City of Calgary, the facilitator and The New Gallery from any liability should any injuries occur.
