SUPPORT THE NEW GALLERY
DONATIONS /
The New Gallery (TNG) is a registered charity and non-profit society that relies on a variety of funding sources for its activities and programs. Financial contributions received from individuals and businesses are an important part of TNG’s private sector income and augment the public sector funding provided through government grants. Your tax-deductible donation will be used to realize the Gallery’s exhibitions and programs.
For questions, or to discuss how you can make a planned or deferred gift for a very specific project or purpose, please contact Alexa Bunnell, TNG’s Operations Co-Director. Your inquiry will be handled in a confidential manner. We warmly thank all of our supporters, without whom we would be unable to realize our ambitions and ideas year after year, and look forward to working with new friends as we build for the future.

Other ways to donate
Contributions of services (i.e. time, skills, effort) are not property and do not qualify for an official donation receipt. However, as stated in the CRA Income Tax Act, “a charity can pay for services rendered and later accept the return of all or a portion of the payment as a gift, provided it is returned voluntarily.”
Why donate?
A gift is defined by Canada Revenue Agency as “a voluntary transfer of property without valuable consideration to the donor.” When you give to a registered charity such as TNG, both you and the charity benefit: the charity receives valuable funds, and your donation of $10 or over (either in the form of cash or a gift-in-kind) is tax-deductible. You may be able to double your gift to TNG. If you work for a company or business with a policy of matching their employees’ charitable donations, they will match your contribution to TNG. For more information, contact your employer regarding this option.
Enhanced Charitable Tax Credit
Effective January 1, 2007, the Alberta government raised the charitable tax credit for eligible annual donations above $200 by 60 per cent. Including the federal tax credit, Albertans now receive a 50-cent tax credit for every dollar donated over the $200 threshold. This gives Alberta one of the highest charitable tax credits in Canada.

CHOICE is The New Gallery’s (“TNG”) monthly giving program, and was created to grow TNG’s base of supporters, members, and art lovers who can sign-up to give back to our charitable centre for contemporary art through monthly giving.
CHOICE allows TNG to reward those Donors who are willing to commit to at least 12 months of continuous monthly giving with an artist multiple from TNG Press for each year of support! This reward is provided annually at the beginning of your pledge, allowing you to bring your new multiple home to enjoy on the same day that you sign-up!
PUBLIC SUPPORTERS /
The New Gallery could not survive without the time and energy of a great number of
people, many of whom contribute to our financial resources. We would like to thank our stakeholders for the many wonderful ways in which they contribute to our success.
